We often see this phrase: in Italy we read little . When they launch some surveys, they also include among the readers those who have read "at least one book during the year". Well, to me you can't call yourself a reader if you only read one book a year. At the end of 2019, Istat discovered that 40.6% of the population over the age of 6 read at least one book a year (not for school or for professional use). 14.3% of that group read at least 12 books a year. This means that the percentage of Italians who read at least one book a month is decidedly lower. Most likely it is around 6% of the population (rough calculation made on the basis of 14.3% of that 40.6%).
However, how many books do Special Data strong readers read per year? According to sololibri.net at least one book a month A statistic taken from BookBlister at least 3 books a year pbeneforti.it reports another figure: from 11 to 20 books a year As you can see, there is no single value to define a strong reader. For me, reading a book a month is equivalent to being a regular reader. Reading 3 a year means reading less than “once in a while”. And 20 books a year are almost 2 a month, so we can say we are strong readers. But why do we Italians, in general, read so little? The excuses why we don't read much Because I really think they're just excuses.
You can find time to cultivate your passions and carve out time here and there. If you don't read, it's because you don't want to read, because other pastimes have entered your life. Or distractions, if you will. Lack of time Do we really no longer have time to read books? Is it possible that the more technology advances, the less time we have available? It seems absurd. A few years ago I wrote how it was possible to read 100 books a year , so you can take that advice to read at least one a month. For over 2 years I have found a way to have more time to read: I get up at 6.30 every morning, from January 1st to December 31st (some rare Sundays even earlier, if I have to go to the mountains). And from 7 I read about an hour. Books cost a lot Some say that books are a luxury good.
